Question 95 Scarab too slow......

Recently bought a '95 29' Scarab w/502 mpi. Not sure what drive ratio is, assuming 1.5. Spinning a Bravo 1 24P 4 Blade at 4500 RPM. Can squeeze 58 on gps with myself and my two little guys in the boat. I was reading some past forums and some guys are claiming low 60's. Any suggestions on props or power adders to get more top speed? Preferably, don't want to go into the motor.

Would appricate any suggestions.

Thanks!

I have a side mount whipple on mine, 5lbs of boost making about 620hp. I get 70-73 depending on load and conditions. 26p bravo 1

My 94 29' Scarab with stock twin 350 mags does the same but I over rev, I see 5500 rpm. I think I need more prop, I have 14 1/2" by 21.. It will even over rev with 4 guys loaded.. Could the props be spinning to fast and cause cavation ?

You should be running 23s on your boat. They were the stock prop from the factory. You could also run labbed 25s and pick up 1-2 mph.

If your motors arent tired, you should see 65-67 with the 23s and a tick under 70 with labbed 25s. At least that is what I was running when I had my 29.
