I have a 1987 Miami Vice 38KV Scarab....currently talking to gentleman that wants to take it off my hands.....I love the boat but the reality is I may have to put her in storage so I am mulling his offer--and may sell it.
This boat has brought me TREMENDOUS satisfaction and the chance to own my dream! If you have the means, and can find a nice one I suggest go for it! |
Got any pics of it and more info?

North bay marine on 79th in Miami has one up in the air as their sign. It looks to be in pretty rough shape but it would be nice to see it rescued.
|
Does it have to be a Vice? Or just a 38 KV model? If you are looking for a 38 KV there are several of them out there, debated on one last month for $7,000 for just the hull listed here on OSO thru a friend of the owner, thought it was a little bit over priced. I requested that the owner call me but never did.
|
I always like the Miami Vice boat, there is one here at Lake of the Ozarks but not forsale. Getting ready to call a guy done in Oklahoma to talk about his 87 MV Scarab
|
I maybe mistaken but the "Miami Vice" was just a KV Scarab with a different color scheme and maybe some interior changes.
|
Yes you are correct just like the Betty Cook addition Scarab was just a regular Scarab. Way to take the wind out of the sails! LOL!
|
...anyone can have a 38KV Scarab.....but only a select few will own a Miami Vice Edition!
It is much more than paint......its a lifestyle!:drink: LOL!!!!!!! |
Right on the money Randy !!!!!!

Re: Miami Vice "FILM" boat AUCTION
Here you go gentlemen !!!
SUNDAY IS THE DAY .... http://www.mecum.com/auctions/lot_de...=LG0911-117280 |
What will it bring? Guesses?
I wonder if it's "no reserve" or not. :D I would trade at least part of 1 kidney for that boat. :drink: |
|
Ohh, thought it was this coming weekend. I think they're asking more like $100k on their website.
|
There is this one in Pawnee, Il. It is a MV edition that has been painted Black and Silver.

http://stlouis.craigslist.org/boa/2565828173.html How do you tell if it's an MV edition since the whole thing appears to have been redone? What's a fair value on that boat? |
Well that boat from the mecum auction is sitting in my shop now! Just put it in the water Sunday. It rode better than my 08 35 lightning. It's nicer than it looked in the pics actually. All the documentation from scarab showing its authenticity. Really cool, I'm glad I got it, like a hotrod on the water. Don't know if I'll want to sell it or not. Just wanted to let the scarab and or miami vice guys know where it went to. Now I have 2 damn boats and still no time to use them. It's the damnedest thing when I think about it....work which provides the kind of money to buy such things but doesn't allow the time to use....OR a situation where work that allows the time to use but doesn't provide the money to buy them!:lolhit:
If you guys have any questions feel free to give me a call. 252-714-8149 Craig |

Hehe, don't know about that but it sure is sweet. Getting new impellors, new thermostat and replacing a few gauges before i put it to bed for winter. Already looking forward to using it in the spring since I only got to put it in once after I got it a couple months agho. Happy boating
