I towed my 31' Scarab (1993-thunder w/kevlar) with a 1993 3/4 ton 454 4x4 suburban/ and a 1996 3/4ton 454 4x4 suburban = scared the crap out of me. The newer trucks (1999 up) are much better in my opinion, but I felt much better when I switched to an Excursion diesel 4x4. Obviously the longer wheel base of a truck does help though.
P.S. I have a bigger boat now (38) and tow with a dually and feel very secure. No fatigue after a 250 mile drive like the smaller vehicles.

I tow my P31 all over with a 2010 F150 Harley and have had no trouble or scary moments . It's all about the trailer !!!!!!! I have a custom built trailer made for the boat , meaning the boat sits as low as possible on the trailer and has 3 axles under it with GOOD brakes on 2 axles. If the boat is balanced on the trailer properly and ALL the brakes are good you will not
have a problem if you just add 1 more axle.
