Going through the gauges will be a cake walk if you've already been through the engines. :D Whatever brand you decide on, the process is pretty simple. I used the camera on my Droid for picts of the dash and behind, some up close to capture the existing wiring. With the picts on my Droid, I could refer to any specific gauge pict for reference. I basically took 1 front shot, 1 back shot. I also used a bit of tape to label the wires. Doing 1 gauge at a time would make it easier, but won't work if you're going to paint or wrap the panels. Zip ties will help you keep the bundles together, label them.

The wrap idea is brilliant, wish I had thought of it. In the end I used an automotive paint then clear coat.

There is another attractive option to update the panels, it's called Hydrographic Printing or Water Transfer Printing. Do a search for it on Youtube, it will blow you away.

Here's an example from a guy who does it.

Found some more info. Do a Youtube search for hydrographic printing, several companies show how the process works.

Also found the link to the guy who did the gauge/electronics covers above. I'm not affiliated in any way to this company, just saw some of their work recently and thought it might be something I'll do myself if I find the time to take my dash apart again this winter.
