GREAT, Let me know a little more about it and
perhaps I can fill in some of the 46s past history. Mike J. |
Boat185: Did some checking
and the 46'Scarab with 2 #5s on each side a a #3 in the center is a boat that was owned by a man in NJ, Who also had a vacation home on a island in Miami, Didn't think he would ever sell that boat. That is a real find. Mike J. |
Im not sure if that is the same boat. When my parents looked at it it was at the mans house in Lauderdale... intercoastal waters i believe. The man had a skater being built and died. Im not sure... tell me what you think

MikeJ,
Thanks for the photos you sent today:) :) :) Shane |
Yes its the one, With him
passing away would explain why it is being sold. He did live on a Island on the Waterway called Turn Bow or something like that his name was Bob Hanley. Mike J. |
thanks mike j youve been a wealth of information. any luck on the speck sheets?

I have the April 2000 Powerboat issue. On page 109 there is an ad for a 46 ft Larry Smith Scarab (very fast). All white with 1000HP evolution engines #6 drives TNT rigged and Bobby Morre maintained. $149,500 Mickey Mills.

Mike J-
I am wrong. My dad said that the person who died was the boats second owner. So I don't know I guess. Maybe this guy had bought it from Mickey Mills a while ago but Micky mills wouldn't sell his boat? Maybe there are two 46's with the #5's and 1 #3, also I think the drives are new than the boat since the #3 is a 3A, and i believe Merc changed that later than the year of the boat, but I will check again. Thanks again |
Was bob hanley the first owner of the boat?
|
Mike J, what kind of boat are you running.
