I am already using the -2 lower unit from imco, and the propshaft is 3 1/2 inches below the pad. It's a 30 pitch prop, Smaller pitch then that I go into the rev limiter. With a 30 pitch the engine is spining 5200. So do you think I should go for a 1.36 ratio??? As regarding the drive it's a XR upper with an Imco lower.

I would say yes if you do not like the stern lift and or the ride feels unsafe. you may loose a little speed and cruise may decrease but if you spin more rpms same thing can happen. i am not a big fan of 1.36's so unless you can have the rev limiter tuned or turned up 1.36's would be the way to go. if you have a -2 drive on your scarab and you are still 3 1/2 below the bottom that is still pretty low but much better then factory location. my panther is set up to be 1 1/4 below the bottom with a -2 and 3 1/4 with standard bravo. so at some point if the transom wood gets rotten you should raise the x dimension higher. i also forgot that the 22 has a pad. bravo ones props can make pad bottom boats a little squirly. hydromotive may be a prop to try but I did not like on my single engine 29 scarab.

Thanks for info for now, I have to decide which way to go or else I'll pull out the 525 and put the 7.4 back in.

So how about 80 in a 20 ftr ? Have a 650+ hp blower sbc ready to go in my 202 stinger, hello 100.

Is the prop blowing out ? Is that all you can turn up RPM wise with that 30?

Boat is still accelerating but I haven't had the balls to push past 82 yet.
