I have a 1983 Scarab II Sounds like I have a similair set-up for the tranny cooler. Water comes from the sea-pump. As far as I know, my boat is all original. the water goes thru the tranny cooler and then dumps into the exhaust riser.

i was thinking of cutting up small pieces of pvc pipe and tapping them in the drain holes and then 5200 them in place after putting resin around the wood. . what do you think?

If your using pvc pipe, you may be better off using epoxy instead of poly resin. I'm not sure about that.

Got the port engine put together tonight with some help from my nephew Trent. We plan to drop it in the boat tomorrow evening late. We'll see how it goes. Tentative splash date is now this Saturday. The other engine is being put together, hopefully have it by friday. Bought some edelbrock 1410 carburetors from Jegs, they're supposed to be here tomorrow. If everything falls into place like it rarely does, Saturday is the day.

Well, the carbs are here. Perhaps things are going to fall into place for a Saturday Splash?

These boats are easy to remove and install engines, only took like 20 minutes from starting to line up the boat, to having the engine sitting in place. Another hour and we'll prolly have the drive installed.

Running the port motor at 1500 rpm for 10 minutes to finish cam break in late last night. I think Shon was enjoying it. Click on the photo for the short video..

I assume the trannies are not in yet based on how far back the engines sit?

No the merctransII trannies are in there. You can see it bolted to the back of the engine in the first photo.

Or the port one is anyway, does your boat have the Borg Warner trannies? I think they are a little longer.
