wow..i am totally impressed!!!!..what project...and u are doing it...wow...
i have never done anything near that big of project.
but i question , for anyone , is how is the top deck suppose to be attached to the hull??
in my bow are, about a 3 ft section,,hull and bow are lose from each other. i can see borken screws??
i am going to take off the rub rail and see what i have.
any advice would be great.....
was thinking of putting in bolts instead of screws, but dont know if i can get the inside to complete the assembly.
thanks..............

Thanks flashgordon, all the work we did except for the paint prep and painting can be done by anybody thats handy and motivated.(and has some equally motivated helpers) As hullofjustis said, the most durable way to attach the deck to the hull would be to bond it with polyester or epoxy, probably in addition to the screws. On my hull, from the cockpit aft, the rubrail had screws with funky little 4 sided nuts that were designed to dig into the glass and act as locknuts. Forward of the cockpit the rubrail and deck were held to the hull by self tapping coarse threaded screws that dig into the hull. We drilled almost all of these out and put new screws, washers and locknuts all the way around the hull, with the exception of about 5-10 screws that we couldn't get to, etc.
I still haven't run the trans cooler dump lines yet. I plan to do that soon.

dump lines??? i dont get that,,as my trans coolers are in the cooling system..i think the water gets sucked in and ran thru trans cooler than up to motor.
i think thats the route..but i dont have separate dumps.
thanks advice and top decl to hull..
flash...............
i just went out to garage and look,,,water comes into sea strainer then into first cooler, then pumped in , is second coller, thern from there feeds up to the cam driven water pump. first cooler is pumped to trans, second is pumped with engine oil.

Looks like you're system is a good bit different than mine
What we were talking about is a modification that helps the durability of the transmission in doing away with the spent cooling water "dump" into the exhaust manifold, and dumping the spent trans cooling water out the back of the boat, thru the transom or wherever. This helps the transmission to cool better because there is no back pressure pushing against the spent cooling water coming out. The water dumps out the back of the boat faster, therefore cooling the transmission better.
I have the merctransII transmissions and I plan to do this modification to my boat, but haven't gotten to it yet. 502ss has done this to his boat, he has the borg warner transmissions.
I hope this explains what we are talking about.

hmmm...i think i follow ,,but ok..what pump is going to drive water into trans cooler?? the sea pump?? are you going to y or t off the sea pump??
local speed marine shop i go to, guy commented to me yrsa ago, about the trans be at good running temp. i dont know the temp. he said this because i told him i was adding some big trans coolers to boat with the 502's i installed. similar is engine oil,,u want it at 210-215.
both my scarabs have/hard c-72's..
last scarab started out with c-71,,had them made into c-72's

hblair, or anyone, i am in the process of putting my scarab panther back together and there are some wiring at the transom that i have no clue what it goes too. green, yellow and black wires that have me scratching my head since i switched it from trs to bravo's i don't know if they went to the transmissions or what. the green wire looks like a ground.
