Default Porta-potty in Scarab1

I am considering purchasing an'86 Scarab1 with a small cuddy cabin. Does anyone out there have any experience with using a portable head in one of these? The boat is in another state and I can't get to it to check it out. The owner says it would be tight. I am leaving tomorrow am. early. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. Greg

I have one in a Scarab excel (28'). It's hard to use in that. I can't imagine using one in a Scarab 1.

Good luck.

Thanks for the input. I think that the Scarab Excels are a newer and lighter model than the one I am looking at. The early ones, like the '86 that I am looking at were hevier, had more freeboard and a cuddy, the later ones, ( in the 90's) shortened the freeboard and lengthend the bow dumped the cuddy, and made them faster and lighter. I think. By this time tomorrow I may,or may not be a Scarab owner. Keeping my fingers crossed. Greg

Beleave it or not but I
put one in my 26ft Flat
deck Scarab.
I opened up the cut out in
the Floor and put in a hatch on the deck, My wife
is now happy and thats all
that matters, Her head is
part way out the hatch but
shes Smiling.

Well, I bought that Scarab. You guys were right, it is going to ba a very tight fit. I am going to do the same thing as Mike and open the cut-out in the floor and build one in there. I am going to first try it without the deck hatch, those things always seem to leak. The boat has a couple of small glitches but overall it seems to be very nice, I am looking forward to beating it.
