Thanks guys. LOL Dan that’s funny. Saturday I got up and was pretty much boated out. I went and bought me an old Harley heritage and went for a ride. Same thing Sunday. But have no fear. We are block sanding the hull sides right now and plan to have them painted by the end of the week...

Sometimes you need a break! Nice softail...I'm thinking about selling my Shovel and replacing it with an early Heritage just like that.

We stuck the arch in place today. More or less to get it out of the way and to keep it from getting skint (southern word for scratched) 😀 I’ll be sanding and buffing the arch and the whole deck. I hope the sides turn out cleaner...

For reference it's cool to go back and look at the original posts in this thread and see what a mess this boat was as it was disassembled. In the beginning I hoped you'd keep the original paint scheme but this looks great, now I get it.:lolhit:

Wow, its been a while since I brought myself current on your build. Again, its mind boggling your attention to detail and the arsenal of skills you have. The boat is truly jaw dropping, simply amazing. My ADHD and symmetry issues are on overload! I feel like this is definitely worthy of a segment on the national news, one of those tear jerking pieces that ends in all smiles, lol! I’ll stay tuned from now on so I dont overwhelm myself. 👍

Where do you get long paper for long boards ?
are they hook and loop ? do they come in wetordry grits from say, 80 thru 2000 ? Looks awesome but now your at the clean clothes, hands, tools, and no shoes part of it. I got 4 old bath towels on the consumables list so nothing gets scratched spilled or any other oopsies happen during rigging, plus new clothes that can't be worn till i'm done or they'll be ripped resin'd gel'd and full of 5200 fingerprints. |
We rarely ever use wet paper anymore. We use 3M hook-it most of the time and it comes in the coarser grits also. It is very good about not clogging and not wearing out for a long period of time. It’s more expensive but you use about 1/3 of it compared to regular stick-it paper.
