Shon came over today and got a lot done on the instrument panel wiring. I finished up all the large diameter wiring, the engines are grounded and I got the battery switches wired up. This is the only photo I took today, sorry. Shon and I may try to start the engines by the end of the week. We’ll see how it goes https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...c605c21cd.jpeg |
By the way do any of you know if there’s a coast guard regulation or something against mounting my battery switches upside down like this?
|
None that I've ever heard of
|
Me neither, but it sure makes them easier to read when you are looking in the bilge!

Ive never seen any specific regulation on the position of the switches. From an electrical standpoint its not good cause if you get them wet the liquid will run down the cable to the connection points and possibly short them out. Running the cable down and sway from the contact point is ideal.....but not always possible or necessary. Yours being under that ledge should be plenty of cover for liquid to stay off them so id say your good to go :)
If those switches are shorting out from water id guess you have WAAAY bigger problems to worry about at that point! :D |
Drill a couple drain holes in them if that is a concern.
