Back from the Dead; '81 Scarab 38 Resto
#825
Thanks guys, been sanding on the instrument panel, also Billy put three coats of black urethane primer on the windscreen/fairing(what are we calling this?)
also if anybody knows of an arch for a 38 I’m in the market for one. I posted this on Facebook. I need one just like this one I’m borrowing now from a friend. If I can’t come up with one I’ll have to make it.

I have a very nice arch I pulled during a resto on a scarab 400, I’ll donate to your cause. My 400 is back in Fl waiting for me to get enough energy to replace the transom, it’s otherwise a very clean boat but looks better without the arch. The arch is in Priest River Idaho, you can have it but you need to arrange shipping.

I got the rest of the engine compartment bulkhead glassed in place. Also hole sawed for the fuel lines for the engines. Rik sent me some studs, drivelines (double ujoints) and a highly polished tie bar for my drives. I’ve also got the instrument panel ready to prime.

I know we’ve talked about this boat might have been a turbo boat in the past, we’ll I was going thru the gauges and wiring and noticed there are manifold pressure gauges in the instrument cluster. Correct me if I’m wrong but there would be no need for these unless it was a turbo boat? Thoughts? Opinions?
