cabin height of 38' scarabs

I have a brochure on the 1989/90 Excel's and it doesn't specify the headroom. I suspect it's 4'9" because of the headliner. Could be 4' 11" to the fiberglass.
The 38 Excel could be the same as my 1990 34' Scarab Excel. Girlfriend is 4'11" and she has to bend her head down a bit when in the cabin. In any case, you're not going to see much more head room unless you find a 50' Meteor of one of the Excaliburs.

Maxperf,
I have always liked the look of the scarabs without windshields. I just happened to run across what seemed to be a good deal on a 1990 38 Excel.
Keith,
Thanks for the numbers.

Mika, there's a lot of the 1990 38' Excels around on the bay, most were ordered without the windshield. I've owned Excels configured both ways, but prefer the windshield now. Got tired of the wind.
jb, I've seen what I think are a few 40 footers, might actually be an older Excalibur model, but it had Scarab written on them, usually with radar arch, real narrow beam, huge sunpad and raised deck. There are a few in the bay, pretty boats. A member of the club owns one. Another one I've seen had "400" on the stern, which I assumed meant 40'. I'm guessing here, but could they be 1980-1984 vintage? Raised decks on them with lots of headroom in the cabin from what I've seen.
There's also a 5000 Scarab Meteor (45'.5" w/LOA 48'8"), they're probably more easily identified, the beam is 9'4". Never seen one of these models though in person.

very true vyper, fortunately the beam makes it feel roomy.
Keith, yeah the older 40's had a huge cabin and rode like a caddy. Certainly a different look than the other scarabs.
I know one personally and its a tank. Stopped in '88 I believe
