Default Bought this 31 Thunder, few questions.

Yep after 17 yrs of ownership sold the 29 Fountain and bought this '94 31 Thunder 454 mags/bravos. Finally a boat we can overnight in comfortably, very happy. Only had it out on the water test. Re doing the brakes on the trailer thing was scary on the trip home. Couple questions. The guy said these are vents for something, he had them taped over as grilles had fallen off. Anyone know for sure what they're for?

I think the vents are for the horn. And hard to get to the back side.

Haha That would be me!....Yeah I saw this Scarab, it was in Belleville. I thought I would throw the Fountain on Kijiji for the hell of it and I was deluged with calls. It went to Ganonoque. Is your boat running?

Fixed the non existent trailer brakes and took the boat out on the weekend. Digs right in and hops right up on plane with the 25 mirages no prob. Its responds very well to the trim switch, much more than I thought it would which is cool We really like it It just has a porta potti in it right now. If I wanted to install an electric head where do people install the holding tank ? Thanks

The factory, for the most part, had the holding tanks under the cockpit floor, underneath back bench seat on starboard side. Macerators were mounted under rear flip up bench seat in storage area

This thing has obviously had the hatch actuator replaced....with something way too short. Fully extended the hatch only opens 14" above the back seat. Theres no way I can fill the drive reservoirs. This actuator fully extended is about 40" and it seems there is about 27" room between the top of the centre stringer and the bottom of the hatch. 27" puts me into a Livorsi SSA 18 24" fully retracted 42" fully extended....not much better. If I could get a Livorsi SSA24 in there with a retracted length of 30.32" it would give me 54" fully extended WAY more . Anyone know what model they came with stock? Thanks

Not sure on the 31s, but the 33s actually have a pvc sleeve that go between the hatch mount and ram end. It extends the ram a bit and is slotted. so if battery ever dies, you can lift the hatch manually
