boy oh boy has alot happened since i last posted about this boat. The TLDR version is Wesco fixed the engine, and put it back in the boat. I ran it for one weekend and then scattered the STBD side outdrive. Since then I've pulled both engines out and pretty much stripped the back of the boat. Got another set of #3 drives that have been shortened 3 inches and another set of transom assemblies. I decided to pull the 540's for a faster hull. Wesco building me a pair of 468's with blowers that should make around 675hp each on 5 pounds of boost. Figure with the shorter X dimension and the 468's with better props the boat should run about the same if not better than it did.

I`d hate to tell ya but this boat will keep sucking money out of your walet like it`s going out of business.
Been there done that for 12 years.
I could have bought a new boat with the money I sank into that Cig.

It already is. Deciding to build another set of engines and set the 540's aside for something else reeeeeally wasn't a smart financial decision on my part.

I thought that’s why we were all here. To throw good money after bad etc. Some people drink, some gamble, others drugs. Me? Old boat addiction. I might need an “old boat rehab”

Just a little update, had a new cover made, all 4 carbs rebuilt, purchased rebuild kits for the Weiand 256's from TBS since I didnt like how the one felt spinning by hand. Cylinder heads are finished, rotating assemblies are balanced, blocks are machined. Gotta buy oil pans still. Got some fiberglass work i want to do to the boat while its still apart. Want to do a full bulkhead behind the back seat (eliminate the hull shake which most scarabs have with the factory half bulkhead), replace the vertical supports in the engine compartment and some other odds and ends. Here are some pictures. Been playing carpenter with my house so I havent gotten much else done on the boats.

Brand new Sunbrella cockpit cover, extended over the bilge vents.

After cleaning 10 years of dust off the blowers. Pic was before i pulled the carbs for rebuild.
