hey guys , you see that aerial shot I sent along with my boat pics. In the early 80's there used to be a offshore boat race called the 'Northport 200'. They would run point to point from left the peninsula to the middle peninsula and down into the bay. I have pics of the boats on trailers if anyone would like to see them. there was Popeye's and other big offshore's. I remeber them saying they loved racing here. After a couple years nobody sanctioned the race so it went away. This was a small town then , wow was it cool to see those guys show up. The day before the race they had a parade and lined up the boats in the nieghborhood streets right along side my in-laws house ,where I took the pics
