242 SS cruising speed

My 242 SS cruising speed with a 502 Merc Bravo and a Mirage+
23 does 30 to 35 MPH at 3000 to 3200 depending on revs, weight, etc

my 242 had the same issue. It was a cracked pick...

my 242 had the same issue. It was a cracked pick up tube inside the tank.
I replaced it with an all metal pick up.

I have a 242 SS 502. No problem with fit with Merc manifolds.
Cruises comfortably in low to mid 30's at 3200 to 3400 rpm with Mirage + 23

I'm looking to repower from a 1992 gen 5, 502 mag. 400 to 500 hp. is enough. Bravo 1 drive.

I got a Mirage + 23 and the difference is astounding!
I gained 10 MPH, the boat now handled well, carves turns with stability and without falling off plane and planes at a lower speed, around 22...
