Badkachina, I noticed it the most when I first put in gear. then the headers drown out the sound so it's hard to tell. read a thread about the shifter cable or shifter mechanism might need...

After contacting a local Mercruiser shop, Lakeside Marine in Rowlett, I was able to get the shop manual's corrected serpentine belt layout....here it is.

I asked a reputable repair shop in Rowlett and he instantly suggested the worn sleeze with the steering...which is placed inbetween the outdrive and the transom. Hope it's not as it's...

removed the old water pump and now I can't get the serpentine belt back on how it was. I verified which setup I had from the Clymers manual before removing and only adjusted the "Adjustment stud"...

once out of the no-wake zone and on plane, it remains fairly straight then the wheel gradually needs to be turned to the left to keep the boat going straight.

Ends up being about 1/2...
