Alldodge thank you that is what I needed , my h/e is the 5 inch mercruiser it should cool the manifolds if I choose to go that way since it cooled the 454 manifolds. Thank You and everyone who replied

Correct me if Im wrong but on the 496 manifolds the water that goes into the bottom comes out the top into the risers am I right on this ?

Alldodge that's what I wanted to make sure of , you are correct your diagram is what I have , I just need to route the sea water into the bottom of the manifolds and out the top in turn it just goes...

454 Closed cooling to 496 exhaust manifolds

I have a 87 454 mercruiser with closed cooling system I want to change over to the 496 exhaust manifolds and risers , but not sure exactly how to plumb the cooling hoses. Has anyone done this swap...

They are FAA approved but not USCG , if it was to burn or have some type of claim and the insurance investigated and found they were installed your claim could be denied then you are responsible ....

When I said flattened I should have said crushed, I will try a Radiator shop and see if they can reshape it but its flat Im not sure it can be reshaped I surely hope so.

If you are running solid rollers or solid flat tappet lifter you can restrict the oil , if it is hyd then no they need the oil to pump up. Depends on the rockers you are running , roller rockers dont...

I have 2 150 gal aluminum fuel tanks and while they are out of the boat I want to clean/flush the inside of them. The fill neck is curved so cant get in there and the sending units are 1.5 in in dia....
