Thank you for the part number, I will use them. The reason I was going to leave the springs was when I bought the motor it had a fresh top end just done. Springs and crane roller rockers.

What size heat exchanger do you have? Mine is 4" diameter and about 24" long. I guess the point of running no T-stat over a 140 is increased flow?

Nice setup. Since I have to buy new pistons anyways I figure I might as well bump up compression to 8.5:1. I wonder how much HP I would gain just by the compression change. We have up to 94 octane...

Thanks for the link. How did the alluminum welds hold up? Why wouldn't the Weiand intake work?

If I could run the motor raw and just change the intake every few years it would almost be worth it....

I had my doubts about the exchanger as well, Ive seen the same size exchanger used on stock 454 mercruisers but obviously the 525 will make alot more heat. ( It's 4" by 24" )

I believe my motor has a 160 degree thermostat, when I was out cruising for the 15 minutes my motor lasted it was bouncing between 160-180. Maybe put in a 140 t stat then?

I purchased a 525sc with 330 hours and fresh top end. Spent the last month or so installing the motor in my scarab 23 SCS with a heat exchanger.

Set the timing at 13 degrees base and 35 full...
