Another way to prolong the life is if you have twins is swap sides with the drives. This changes the the gear sets used going forward. the problem is metal fatigue. Tiny cracks show up in the gears...

I had problems until I started using amzoil gear lube in the drives and every spring remove the drives and bring them to the shop have them taken apart. Bring the gears and shafts to a machine shop...

1998 Scarab 33 AVS with Myco custom tri axel trailer, one owner this boat
has always been in fresh water on a lift and stored in a heated garage. It has twin 540 CID engines that dyno at over 750...

The sweet smell of av gas burning. The problem is the only time I get to smell
it is when I back off the lift.
