Yes, lid was off when I drained it. That part went fine. And I did replace the gaskets. I was just concerned about not seeing any from the bottle making its way down. Thanks for the input.

This is pictures of the work done by Fountain Factory on the hatch leading to the deck. The blue stuff is sealant I put in to keep water out till I can get some weathering stripping and do the job...
