Re: L29 cylinder head sugestions

I had the same problem 2 yrs ago. I swapped out the peanut port heads and the intake with a adaptor from quadrajet (manifold side)to holley.
I installed a set of stock L29 heads with only a valve...

Re: electrical: off-on-on toggle switch

I thought of the relay too but didn't post that idea because you would need another relay(or switch) to shut off power to the first when you did not want to use the lights. Otherwise you would have a...

Re: electrical: off-on-on toggle switch

What you want isn't going to happen with a off the shelf switch. I'm sure if you wanted 10000 of them one of the switch manufacturers would come up with something, but not for one.
In a toggle...

Re: Replacing twin small chevys with twin small fords?

One thing to keep in mind, I ran into this when I went from a 302 to a 351 way back in the olden days. When I went to put the crank pulley on the balancer I had a problem. Honestly I can't remember...

Re: Replacing twin small chevys with twin small fords?

Look at Bob Glidden now. He is wrenching a bunch of Hemi's,
I have a feeling the Chevy dominated Pro Stock ranks are about to feel some heat. Its funny that the "Grump and Glidden" are both back...

Re: Replacing twin small chevys with twin small fords?

When I innately posted my reply about the Mer/ Ford bellhousings, I thought this thread would turn into trouble.
It appears I was not wrong.
My first sterndrive was a mid 70's searay 24 ft cuddy...

Re: New Mech fuel pump, cracked. What did I do worong?

It sounds to me like you are not getting the pump lever under the end of the fuel pump push rod. That damn rod wants to slide down and it is really hard to hold it up long enough to get the pump...

Re: Replacing twin small chevys with twin small fords?

I'm sorry I guess it was a 888, anyway the point is in the 70's Merc was making sterndrives with small block ford power. The parts are laying somewhere in some boneyard collecting mud.

Re: Replacing twin small chevys with twin small fords?

See if you can find some old 228 mercruiser engines in a marine boneyard. In the late 70's I had a searay with small block ford power. You should be able to use all kinds of parts from it,...
