Stays on plane just fine down to 19-20mph, as long as I use some tab and keep the r's around 3200. I do have full size K-Planes, they help. When the kids are driving I keep them 30 mph plus....

Re: Exhaust upgrades for 292 Fastech 6.2 MPI

I replaced mine with Stainless marine manifolds. I have the Corsa CC. The install was tight but it fits fine with some patience. Better sound, better power but some more transom soot.

Re: Slow trim tab movement - normal for Bennetts?

I switched out the Bennetts for Eddie Marine Tabs. Big improvement in planing and rough water ride plus they are fast. Took a weekend to do right but well worth it. It's a good off season project.

Re: 377 Scorpion Motor??

Sorry guys been a bit busy lately.

The Stainless Manifolds went on without any ECU remapping and it runs fine w/o it. It does smoke a bit more and leaves more soot on the stern that's why I'm...

Re: 292 Fastech and trim-in limit spacers

Nickm, Did you reprogram the ECUs? If so where did you have them done?

I have seen an improvement with my manifolds too but without the ECU reprogram, I get a lot of transom soot so I know there...

Re: Formula 292 vs Donzi 28 ZX

Formula...but I'm biased :drink:

I shopped around before going with the 292. For the same $ the Formula "felt" bigger and rode better. They are both quality boats, good luck.

Re: Blown cooling hose

Bummer Mike...I hope that's what it is. I'll get it flushed this w/e then button everything up with a new hose and thermostat.

Do you know what the pressure difference was between the good...

Re: Blown cooling hose

The hose is (was) two seasons old. I'm ordering a new thermostat in addition to the hose and will back flush the fuel & steering coolers this w/e. I hope that will lick the problem.

I do not have...

Blown cooling hose

On my way back to the marina yesterday, my port engine cooling hose (thermastat housing to recirculating pump) blew...dumped a ton of water into the bilge. The high water alarm worked but my ears...

Re: Bouncing H20 Temp Gauge

My left engine temp cycles from about 165-180 and then cools back down. The right stays pretty consant near 160 degrees. Oil pressure is stable, don't know if it's a thermastat issue or w/in normal...

My port motor temp cycles while running from 160-180. The starboard motor maintains about 160 most of the time. The port has always run a little hotter, it never gets over 180 but it just seems...

Re: Bleeding hydrolic steering

I bleed the tabs by running up and down...I'd guess the steering would be the same since they're a similair ram design. Exercise the system real well to make sure you get all the bubbles out.

Re: 292 fiberglass issues

Aaron,

I'm stumpped. Unless the cleat somehow caused it, which would take a ton of pressure on it, I don't see why it would spider. I'd see what Formula thinks...I bet they'd want to fix it and...

Re: 292 fiberglass issues

Mine is 4.0 and it has seen 80 hours of moderate to heavy use. It's a real solid boat. I concur with Slick, any chance of impact damage there?

Re: Who's tweaked a 292?

Nick,

What kind of R's are you getting now and how much did they improve with the IMCO exhaust? Did you get flamearresters and reprogram your ECUs? I bet 24's would help top-end as long as you...
