The boat is very difficult to race safe at a good speed and I don't have a lot of experience at throttles and dave has less behind the wheel.

It's best to be safe at this point.

Any OPA Class 7 teams looking for a strong motor?

I have a 2002 250XB, This was Mercury racing "Fishing motor", they made approx 270hp and with a 300 ECU and cowl mod they make closer to 280 plus!

Gary bought this engine to run on the PFE...

Currently we race her in OPA class 4 (85mph), the speeds are easy to achieve, problem is the bigger boats with twin engines have a massive advantage in choppy water and acceleration.

No, just blower vents pull fresh air from the outside and blow it into the cockpit. Nothing crazy, but it works.. when I "play boat" her we just remove the canopy lid.
