Fixed it! Should have listened to my buddy that said it might be the ring terminal on the solenoid wires. Kept checking with the meter and found it appeared to be shorting in the terminal. ...

Do you mean the large "hot" side terminal on the solenoid or somewhere else? This is a brand new solenoid and it is doing the same thing as the old one. I notice if I push on the green wire side...
