Welcome GQ! As everyone else has said, the Lighthouse Marina is probably the best place to launch your boat from. The Lake Murray Marina also has a nice ramp (but, both of these are on the Irmo side of the dam).

I also agree that Jan would be your best source for info on the Lexington side of the lake.
