The notch is kind of a built in set back for the outboard boats. I think the I/O boats are heavier in the back and there is no notch for better balance of the boat and help support the weight.

Mine are aluminum and the long block is supposed to weigh 390. The iron block motors are supposed to be 90 pounds heavier. I'm not sure what a SBC weighs.
Prices seem to be going up on them here...

I'll see if I can dig up some more pics. I'm not sure Alphas would live very long, maybe if you put 1 1/4 propshafts in them. I think the fat shafts from outboards are the same, but I'm not sure....

PN R028024 for the lower $263.89 now it looks like. They are iron and 1 lower manifold is 35 lbs.
R029016A is the elbow but I didn't use them. It's 162.77....

The EFI stuff wasn't bad... there is a ton of info on lt1swap.com for the harnesses and such. I have HP Tuners for the computer mods.
The rev limiters are set at 6000 for now but...
