best gear drive is RCD, run all the time in my boat, Keith black is ok as well, wouldnt run a belt, I like to wash down and the RCD set up right is bullett proof, good luck ,gg10

I run 4.5" id dry exhaust, I use slide in cone mufflers taken from drag racing, works pretty well ,knocks down harmonics, and there relatively cheap compared to "marine" exhaust. good luck gg

1/4" stroke and 345cc heads will leave alot of tq on the table unless your going to turn 6500+, did a 4.56x4.25 with a set of 325 i hade and didnt like it. I believe 310 with 2.25 valve on 4.25...

4.375 stroke, 6.735" rods, 1.27"cd, dart 345 heads, used an eldebrock victor insted of dart intake, just did a comp and the eldelbrock makes more tq and cheaper, spend savings at Wilson manifolds...

Kamma, I am a hobbist with these boat motors, the more knowledge I get the more I realize that most engines are over kill on cyclinder head , this engine which I dynoed last week has taught me alot...

582cid 4.625bore, 4.375 stroke, static cr 10.75, dart 335 heads, edelebrock victor worked over by wilson, single blp 2.125 dominator, crane hr made 850 @ 6000 on chevron 92.

sonic, I would suggest raising static cr to 10-1, swap your dart intake out for a edelbrock victor, reasonable price and makes more power below 6000 , run a larger cam and you might be supprised what...

HI lots of interesting info, My criteria for engine is max power on pump gas less than 6000 for following reasons, piston speed, valve train stability and outdrive. I believe over 6000 rpms greatly...

checked out the steve schmidt site, I didnt see the rpm those motors made there hp, I have a bravo so I try to make peak hp under 6000rpms.
