Take it all apart Buddy, the engine maigh move a little bit,+/- 10 degre. Some of your valve are straigh against their pistons. If you're lucky, the valves bended out of shape and maybe save the base...

Amen. I agree 100% with you. Anything made of plastic, fiberglass or metal can be replaced. It may be annoying on the spot but make for funny story later.

Personnaly, I keep mine full to prevent condensation and/or corrosion but it's just me. I fill it up with supreme and gas stabilazer and Bob's my uncle.

Rick, the starter is aft under the stbd side exhaust manifold by your bellhousing. So yes you should be able to get at it (might [will] get some scratch on your arm). if you go in between both...

Since you checked the battery, I'd check the power cable connection on your starter and also the ground cable from the engine to the battery. There might be some corrosion in between the starter and...
