Re: How to put a new impeller in Raw Water Pump??

I just did this about three weeks ago. I would suggest a little dishsoap on the inside of the housing to get the impeller to go in smoother. The soap also helps to lubricate it before the water...

Re: Roll Off for boat Vinyl...?

Magic Erasers are what have worked best for me in the past. I have also used Westleys Beach White Tire Cleaner with decent success. It is a little more harsh but if you keep it away from the...

Re: Dry start damage?

Well I put it all back together today and all is well. I replaced the impeller and the housing. When I run the engine on a hose I can hear a slight squeeking sound. It almost sounds like a belt...

Re: Dry start damage?

I want to ask one more question about this process. While I am pretty sure how this water pump all came apart I have also read how people screw up impeller direction and inlet and outlet hose. The...

Re: Dry start damage?

"One ruined boating vacation just avoided"

Might be the best line of the day. I am so glad I took the time and tore it apart. I already found all the pieces in the oil / power steering fluid...

Re: I need to add a couple ounces of gear lube, can I do it from the top vent?

As long as you know how much you lost and the reason you lost it there is no reason you can't fill it up from the top. NEVER EVER fill an empty one up from the top. Just topping it off is fine. I...

Re: DIESEL vs GAS?

It has been my experience that diesel engines seem to last a good deal longer and require a little less maintenance. They also have much greater torque and get better fuel efficiency at low RPM's. ...

Re: Tar on Non-skid

Thanks for the replies. I have a bottle of Acetone so I guess I will start with that. I have used it to remove wax so I know it doesn't harm my fiberglass. Thanks again for the replies!!!

cougarman,

I am a pilot for the Navy and we have "bladder tanks" in our jets. You know that a regular tank is a rigid, tub like tank. Think of a bladder tank as a huge heavy duty ziplock bag. ...
