I also have a v8-24 I'll sell for $70 shipped - not as nice looking as the HP module, but works fine.

looking for a new distributor, found my lower bushing is badly worn and considered rebuilding - but time is problem.

I've been using a Monitor for 4 seasons cooling the block and 496 merc aluminum manifolds without issue (used exclusively in saltwater).

Reconfigured I/O is more accurate.

I purchased a Monitor brand kit for my 454 build and it has been flawless. Great product.

I used aluminum Merc 496 manifolds and made the system a FULL FWC system (block, and manifolds).

Didn't have the problem, but I retrofitted full fresh water cooling to include my aluminum manifolds.....

Even if you use the iron manifolds, the replacement time frame for salt water usage is not...

I 'think' they were based on the Powerstroke 7.3...one of the most reliable engines you can find. They will add lots of weight (somewhere around 800+ lbs over a BBC think).

Want to ship me one?...

Put a new Holley 750 on and so far it's doing great, but still tuning.

Out of the box I was able to get the same MPG, but in a much larger RPM band - great flexibility for speed / economy...
