I LOVE the look of this setup but it doesn't seem very safe? I'm guessing the coupling about 12" from the tip would be a flapper? But when the engines are shut down wouldn't there be water sitting on...

I think it would be more practical if you can make the power you want/need keeping the motors NA. Boost just kills rotory reliability and making high HP would be a real challenge to quiet those...
