That wouldnt had worked in mine without cutting the bulkhead.
Instead I cut the floor in mine and lifted it straight out....

I ran it with a merc 525.
Mine was heavy and perhaps the water wasnt that salty as yours Will be.
I think My stringers were cut down when they tried to put the top on....
