How about your battery? Is it a good high Amp battery? Really effects the ignition.
My guess ignition plugs wires or battery amps. Along with 110 degree weather.
Non NGK's will appear good...

I see you have NEW plugs Did you use NGK's they work best...

When the 260 Stingers were new they ran slightly better top end with the 23' standard ss 3 blade props than the 21's, however the diameter of the 23 pitch was slightly smaller than the 21 pitch....
