I have a 1:50 Alpha 1 Gen 1, bought as a complete remfg unit 5 years ago. Has maybe 50 hours on it, all of them with a drive shower. I drain and fill gear oil with Merc High Perf....

As to the speculation if it was caused by a deep draft wake or cabin cruiser wake, I will add this.

At approximately the same time there were 4 deep draft vessels taveling upbound on the seaway....

have one on my 210 sport 454/alpha set up. it's worth the piece of mind. they help out great at cruising, but if you're trimmed all the way out you'll run into water pick up issues.
