Default PRA Mohegan Sun Poker Run-July 25th & 26th

Who's up for this run? Dinner is at the Casino.

George is sponsoring the run and promises to have all the AT's together at the dock:

"I will be sponsoring the event which will get all AT owners a special package. The entry is around $800,there will be about a 35% discount+ special rooms. I will also have a crew there to help haul boats and take care of details. In addition we will all be together on the docks and have special action photography coverage and maybe a A-Team magazine story. Would really appreciate your support if it can be arranged."

I was hoping you'd chime in.

Can you give us some insight as to what this run is all about? (i.e. card stops, lunch stop, how many boats last year, hotels, etc.)

Thanks,
Steve

Yea, last year there were about 70-80 boats. The run is based out of Ocean Performance which is a mile up the road from the marina and launching ramp. Most people stay at Mohegan, since it is mohegan sun. Its about a 25 min drive from Old Saybrook which is where everything is happening. You start at the CT river go across to LI and get a card in Greenport. The you travel around Shelter Island at 50mph then blast to Block Island where the lunch stop is. After lunch you then blast back to CT to the Thames river by the USS Nautilus and pick up another card. Then it's back to Old Saybrook for your remaining cards. The whole run is about 125 miles in very unpredictable waters. PRA does a great job with this event as well as Ocean Perofrmance. George and Bo were there last year running the 700 boat. Im pretty sure they enjoyed as well as everyone did. There should be some great hardware there this year!!

The wife and I have decided we might do it. It's 2 weeks after the Jammin on the James and 2 weeks before we go to Destin so the dates are perfect. SL I hope you know your way around up there like I do do here because I'm following you. I'll try to keep up

I know my way around up there a little. I've run the Scallop boats from New Bedford around to Providence to the shipyard and been by Block Island steaming south out of Buzzards Bay. I went to Montauk once back in the 80s and fired a drunk Captain and jumped on the boat and ran it home the whole way with the radar because the fog was so thick.
