With the 2005 race season one week away, there is a lot of chatter reguarding OSS racers racing with SBI, but yet a lot of admosity towards OSS, why would you want people to race that you show such dis-reguard for?? further more depending which class they race if one came over it maybe the only boat in its class.
While the list of active boats on either roster could be disputed, only the season will really show who will be attending fulltime, part time, or not at all. as for calling out people to answer on this forum, be reasonable, it isnt going to happen for either side. its not the place. if you want answer call them directly, you want opinions keep writing on this board.
as for boats not being ready for the first race, sorry A$$ excuse. you wont see this in any other motorsport, the vehicle may not qualify but it is there.

Pete...I'm missing something....How many SBI/APBA racers can you name that came out and complained on the Worlds....now how many OSS racers can you name that have been complaining on the same questions, how many can you name that said there should be no World Championship race because they didn't want to qualifie. We all just need to sit back and let the race season play out.....again both sides are at fault on things....are you racing this year? as far as admosity I don't think a lot of racers have a problem with OSS...just follow the rules and lets race....if they choise not to so be it....the opertunity is there for racers to race both Organization so lets see what happens....
As far as boats not being ready....That's a good question...lets see if its BS or really happends....and to be fair lets ask OSS racers and all Manufactures.....I know Todd W. new Skater was not done on its origanal time....and he race's OSS lets ask him if its BS. Pual W. has be involved in Offshore what 20+ years....lets ask him if a boat can not be done before a season starts because of things that accure or is it all BS....there are plenty of boat manufactures that post on here lets here if they have had set backs when building boats....
I also know of a very well known name racing in OSS that just got there boat a couple of weeks ago that have been busting there butt to get ready of the first race and still are working on it....and these guys a very well known....so thats why I would like to keep it to OSS races.....no favortism...just truth or BS...

Gino,
I can lend some insight into the issue of boats being ready because of experience in homologation, manufacturing and rigging.
With the state of offshore for as many years as I can remember and the rules at the end of a year changing, some years more than others, with manufactures not delivering on time in that short period of offseason for various reasons, I know it is very likely that some boats will not be ready and have good reasons.
But this is more likely to occur with rerigged boats, new purchased boats both new manufactured and resales, new teams, teams that make a last minute decision to race in another class or teams that funding for the next year is committed late.
Hence the rule that has been historical that you could run a leased boat for a certain period of time with the authorization of the organizational body.

Yeap....and I have seen it first hand on my F1 boat and my SV...things come up and very few teams don't make there disition to buy a new or used race boat till after the Worlds....
So I don't think its BS but just my opion....but wanted to hear from othe racers....

well Todd' s boat has seen water already, and i know many OSS teams have been to the 10th st ramp in sarasota for testing already. as well as with throttle-up.
as for complaints from SBI members, its a moot point.
the season openers for both bodies will determine a lot as will race sites.
if everyone wants to races in KW, they will have to do to SBI races, if they dont they wont, pretty simple.
Like i said before a world championship really isnt such unless everyone in the world is invited to attend. it should be the north american championship in my opinion. All of the class one boats would smoke the our fleet.

Pete..Todd's boat did hit the water....but was it done when it was supposta be....why don't you ask him how many months it was behined....That boat was scheduled to be built long before the Worlds....also remember the Bad Boys SV was at Key West and just had to be rigged...and it was just done a month or so ago...so you see if you bought a new or used race boat in Dec. - Feb. and you have to re-rig it or rig it for the first time there is a lot of things to fall into place to make it for the first race......I think a lot of teams are bustin there butts to get there boats out there as soon as possable....and we should be happy even with all that is going on in Offshore there are stilla lot of teams building new boats and teams are buying used race boats to.....its good for all the Organizations and the sport....

If you don't hurry up and get it on the race course the cost per race race ratio going up is the only thing that will be fast about it.
Good Luck with it.

Good Luck with it.
