CAN ANYONE WITH A 280 LEGEND WITH A 7.4MPI(310HP0 TELL ME WHAT PROP THEY RUN? bOAT HAD NO PROP WHEN I GOT IT. Have a 21 mirage plus on and it needs more rpm like 300-350 more rpm. Thanks!!

I've got a 97 Legend with a 454 Mag EFI and I'm spinning a 23p Mirage Plus. Are you sure its not a mag???

max rpm on a 7.4mpi should be 4600rpm if you have a 21 and your are turning 4300rpm at wide open throttle then you need to go down to a 19 pitch and that should bring the rpms up about 200 to 250 .
before you do that make sure the throttle linkage is adjusted right and its opening the throttle plate all the way.

somebody said go to a cupped 19 to get it to about a 20p any sense in that? the merc prop slecto says a 20.6 is ideal pitch?

If you get a 19 mirage plus it will be cupped.
I'm not a prop pro but from what I have heard the difference between a mirage and a mirage plus is that the mirage plus is cupped.

Check on Ebay you should be able to pick one up between $150 to $250.
And boatnt you are correct on the Mirage Plus it is cupped v.s. the standard is not.
