drive oil leaking inside bilge???
#1
28 ft donzi twin 350 mags, bravo one drives, went out last week and greeted by beeping when I pulled back to dock. Marine guy said most likely impellers so replaced both. just got boat back and notice drive oil leaking down the back of the port drive inside the engine compartment. Thoughts as to what I'm looking at here? Thanks in advance,

Check the hose connection at the transom plate. It's just a simple slip on with a push button lever to hold it on. They are somewhat loose when installed and rely on the o-ring to seal. Right under the water inlet hose, fairly easy to reach and diconnect.

If you are seeing oil draining out from the u-joint bellows, your drive's upper gearcase oil seal is shot. That's the most likely culprit if you are seeing oil as you describe. The beeping you heard was most likely the low drive oil warning. To fix it, the drive needs to come off, but that's pretty quick and easy, and you can have your motor alignment checked at the same time. If the drive has been run low on oil, you could have other issues in there, but hopefully this hasn't been going on for long enough to cause a major problem.
