Default Gen VI Cam shaft in Mark IV block

I am unclear re: Thrust bearing, Cam button, and distributor gear for the combination of of using gen VI ( HP-500 Cam in a Mark IV ( 365 magnum ) block. I am using the single roller chain ( stock Gen VI - I think ) cam gear and chain. So I believe that I need a cam button..
Do I also need the thrust bearing with the gen VI timing gear?
Do I have to change the distributor gear to bronze?
I believe that the HP-500 cam is a crane cam....

Darn it... I find this out after I installed my timing cover and glued it all up to the oil pan..... Geez...

Thanks very much for any help anyone can offer to clear this up for me...

I run a gen VI block with a gen V timing cover with a cam button. You have to tap the block for the Gen V timing cover because it has 10 bolts instead of 6. I'm not sure how the cam button works with the gen VI cover. Talk to RMbuilder he will know.
