Default Stringer Question...

I am gutting a '90 Larson Senza Spectre. I basically have a clean canvas as far as what goes back in the boat. I am upgrading the motor mount to a Gil offshore instead of the lag bolt OEM install. How thick should the stringers be? 1/2", 3/4", 1 1/2".....2x4??? Any help?

How big are the stringers now? Or have they been cut out.

With offshore mount it is a good idea to make up backing plates for the mount so the the mount and the plate sandwiches the stringer.

I made my backing plates out of 3/8" aluminum plate.

Yes backing plates will definitely be installed. I was just wondering how thick the actual stringers are in some of the cig, fountain, baja type boats with factory offshore mounts....the old mounts are completely cut out and I won't go back with that type of set-up...it is most of the cause of my current problems....

Height of the stringer probably determined by the floor. My stringers are 2 x 10 plus 6 layers glass. 29' boat
