I e-mailed Gibson but never got a response. As much as I hate the idea I will have to use mufflers on some area lakes. Will I have to change my slash cut tips or cut mine flat in order to use clamp on mufflers?

My prices can't be beat on GGB's! I've got 4", and 4 1/2" clamp ons in stock. You don't need to cut your tips, the clamp ons should work fine as they are. Let me know I can have them in your hands by Tues!

anasazi,
I fought the mufflers for a long time. I finally put on a set of GGB Extremes. I had no power loss and the motor still sounds great. BTW, my motor is an NA 540, dry CMI's. All from Fred @ TrickMarine

Thanks for the input so far. My concern is; my tips measure 9 1/2" on the top and 5" on the bottom. Thats a 4 1/2" difference. If I'm going to get at least 3" of the bottom part of the pipe in, that means 7 1/2" of the top has to enter the muffler. Is that possible, and if so, wouldn't it interfere with the baffles?

If your interested, I have access to a brand new set of 4" GGB Extreme clamp ons that you can have for $650 shipped. These are brand new in the box and have never been put on.

anasazi, I'm no expert but I doubt that anyones clamp ons will work with your tips without cutting them off staight. Most clamp-ons "eat-up" less than 3" of your tips before they bottom out on the baffles. Don't forget that most mufflers are around 9-10" in lenght so I think you'ld want to trim the tips so your total lenght doesn't get out of hand! Steve
