Default Searay with shingles what now?

Bought new searay two months ago 2006 had a severe porpose when starting to trim brought back to dealer dealer added shingles to the hull at the rear of the transom. Got boat back boat still had some porpose so dealer added more shingles. What should I do? SeaRay says no new boat we will fix what gives. Concerned boater.

"wedge" is the more common term.

??? Shingles?

You don't say what Searay? Could be a 176, could be a 500 DA.

Keep working with the dealer and make sure they involve SR, especialy if they agree there is a problem. Do they agree?

Also, check you PM's. It's a link to a site that may be better suited for the ? and boat.

I had the same problem with my new Searay. Your porpose has a purpose. I'd advise to take your boat back to the dealer and strongly recomend he rmove the shingles and ask for a reroof.

What in the heck are shingles/wedges or whatever you're talking about????????? Sounds to me like you need some trim tabs man.

Shingles/Wedges?!?!?!?

What are they doing, applying some sort of gizmos to your hull. I need more details because that just sounds idiotic.

UPDATE: the boat is a 2006 200 sundeck with a 5.0 MPI 260 hp engine mercruisers alpa one. Searay has authorized all repairs. The dealer call them shingles but they do look like wedges attached to the bottom of the hull and than gel coated over.

So the dealer is adding hook to the hull. Same effect as trim tabs, but not adjustable.

I certainly would add trim tabs long before I added hook to a hull.
