Bonding advice

No ... not the male type.
Had this fitting break off my SeaLand Vacuflush holding tank. Original part was $30 to replace, but it has been redesigned and superceeded to an assembly that includes the pump motor for a mere $345.
Any suggestions on bonding agent to reattach the bung to the pump body?

3M 5200.....a little messy, and takes awhile to dry, but if you clean the surfaces to be sealed, it'll stay sealed for a long-long time.
Hugh
P.S. It cures quicker if you can keep the sealant wet with water.

sand it all clean then use a peice of tape to hold it in position and use jb weld. dont use the 5 minute stuff use the slow curing type. use masking tape and make a circular dam around the area so the jb weld will be very thick and have a large diameter footprint to help hold it for a long term repair. use 80 grit or rougher sandpaper and sand everything that the glue will contact. sand a larger area than you think you will need as the larger the foot print of the repair the better the odds of long term success. the sanding is important for physical adhesion. id also wipe it off with laquer thinner or similar to remove grease and wax before you sand it. good luck but you should have a great repair doing it this way. jb weld is some good chit mon...
