R-hand rotation bravo 28. Casting defect on the barrel of the prop. I suspect this would affect the flow dynamics along the leading edge of the blade. Can this defect be repaired correctly? If not, any idea if Mercury would likely replace it without a big hassle?

It probably could be fixed by a reputable prop shop. Operative word being reputable. However If the prop is new & you bought it from a Merc dealer, I would call them & see what they or merc will do for you. They may or may not be able to help you, As I always say it doesnt hurt to ask the worst they could say is no. Good luck with your prop situation.. It is not a big deal to repair the prop and make it look as if it had never been repaired.

If the prop is still stock and has had no repairs done in the past I would contact Mercury and see if they will repair of replace the prop for you at no charge. The Warranty is good for one year from the date of purchase, or 90 days if used on "high performance equipment".

If you have a receipt for the prop or the boat that it was part of, the selling dealer can ship it back within 1 year of purchase for a credit to his account. Then the dealer replaces the propeller. If that doesn't work, you may want to call Mercury customer service for their input.
