I have had a 245 for 5 years now...goin with a 350 vortec and revolution marine exhaust this spring...its a sport boat not a speedboat....I figure it will go 50 mph with the setup.

I hope to get 50 out of mine as well.I still have a Bay Liner my wife bought with a bad 305 last summer.We put a small block 400 in it with side through hull and it was a blast! We had a great time , but I found the boat I really wanted and so I'll sell the Bay Liner this spring I imagine. I'm not sure why they never put 400 in boats I thought it was great!!

Ya know I;m not really sure I take it it was just an option I don't know ,My Dad bought a 83 230 scorpion and it is the same except the interior is diffrent his has 2 barrel chairs and 2 jumpseats in the back instead of the sun deck and beanch seat . and his cuddy cabin has a sink in one corner where mine does'nt also his is much plainer on the outside with no stripping. we have both owned these boats since november so we havent had either in the water yet , but can hardly wait!!

Probably make some issues here, but I think I am correct. I have a 1983 39 Scorpion with 540's and TRS's. They are 630 HP with Haltech Fuel Injection, Dart aluminum heads etc. It runs in the low 70's. I have the Chris Craft brochures from 1979, 1982, 1983, 1984 and 1985. The smallest Stinger in their brochures is the 260. Anything smaller is a Scorpion. I do not have a 1986 brochure. I think you have a Scorpion with Stinger emblems. In 1985 they list a 230S Scorpion, a 230SL Scorpion, a 230SL Limited Scorpion, and a 232AC Scorpion. The differences all seem to be engine, interior, and color options. The 230SL Limited has the swim platform that is fiberglass and matches the boat lines and paint. The 232 has a cruiser type profile with windows etc. The differences between the 39 Stinger and my 39 Scorpion is the seating and the raised deck on the Scorpion for more headroom in the cabin.
