Default Two questions

I have cracks nstress points in the gel coat, like i ncorners of the cock pit and the like. I know they are common, how hard are they to fix?

The interior gel coat of the cock pit is black. Can I paint it white, or is this not even a good idea, it gets extremly hot.

Thanks.

Default Re: Two questions

Answer to question # 2 - Determine what type of "black paint" is on the surfaces now. Use a rag wetted/ damp with the solvent MEK and wipe the surface in a back and forth motion 50 times. If the paint disposlves easily then you should use a simple paint that does not have strong solvents such as latex or alkyd. If the paint does not disolve, it is important that the surface be sanded first then apply ANY type of paint over top.
