Question Fed fuel tax refund for boat gas

Anybody figure out Form 4136 to get the fuel tax rebate for boat gas yet? I got my state refund, but I can't figure out the federal form. I don't see general boating as an option. Any tax types know the answer?

No. Type of Use
1 On a farm for farming purposes

2 Off-highway business use (for business use other than in a highway vehicle registered or required to be registered for highway use)

3 Export

4 In a boat engaged in commercial fishing

5 In certain intercity and local buses

6 For diesel fuel, kerosene, and LPG in a qualified local bus

7 In a bus transporting students and employees of school

8 For diesel fuel and kerosene used other than as a fuel in the propulsion engine of a train or diesel-powered highway vehicle (but not off-highway business use)In foreign trade

9 In foreign trade

10 Certain helicopter and fixed-wing air ambulance uses

11 For aviation fuel used other than as a fuel in the propulsion engine of an aircraft

I don't believe theres a FED refund. just a state. The road tax refund is usually a state thing. If I remember the fed tax isn't for road maintnance, thus being non refundable. I'm not 100% sure though. If you go to the BOATUS web site, and look up Government affairs

In Missouri, it is available to everyone. We have taken advantage of it the last few years. I am not sure, but you may have to file it with the state that you bought the gas in.
