I have been looking at some of the 33s with o/b's and i/o's. Is the length 33' without o/b bracket?

Put my Midnight up for sale, reluctant to sale but hoping to get a closed deck Midnight with quads, if that falls through, I really like the lines of the 33.

I find myself going back to the looks, performance and value of the 33. I do wish they were a little bigger. Can anyone offer any Positives,negatives to the 33..

They run bigger than 33 feet in my opinion

Why I chose my 33' PP:
> Classic south Florida offshore looks, sweet lines.
> Predicatable straight bottom handling.
> Sharp entry angle and deadrise for the chop.
> Great freeboard...not too low so you feel like you're going to fall out, but not too high so you fell like you're riding in a bucket.
> High build quality.
> Relatively flat sunpad (I've had others that are angled too steep and you feel like you're going to slide off it). Removes easily too for sotrage and/or cleaning.
> Room to work in the engine compartments.
> Handles rough water superbly, solid ride.
> Can be trailered easily.
> Did I mention great lines??
> Rigging that puts many boats to shame.

Things I'd chage or make improvements to:
> An angled footrest would have been nice.
> Windy boat, you definately need the pop-up wind deflectors. OSO member cowisl had a plexi screen made, looks nice.
> Stiffer foam in the seat portion of the bolster, you tend to slide forward a bit when sitting.
> The later model boats have a fiberglass sole in the cockpit, most models have the Lonseal Lonwave installed over it (just like the soles in Cigs), I'd prefer just a gel/fiberglass sole.

That's all I can think of for now, the 33' is a hard package to beat and I see myself in this boat for a long time.

Most would be surprised, if they actually took the time to measure the boat accurately & hang a couple of plumbobs off the hulls centerline, what it measures out at...contrary to what the literature stated. Not counting the thickness of the rubrail. Ed

Thanks for the info , I also like the classic lines. It's a nice looking boat. I been checking out the o/b' s on oso and I am impressed with the speed claims. Also considered the i/o's but I have to cross shallow water to get to the Ocean Does anyone know what the exact length and weight ??

I'll hang a plumb bob later today as Ed suggested and get some measurements.

I go through some shallow water myself to get into some coves around here, I just kick up the drives and it's no problem.

Thanks, what power do you have twins trips? How does family like it?

I had a 33 Powerplay with twin HP 500's that ran about 80 MPH and my Father has a 33 Open Fish with twin 225 Optimax's that runs 59 MPH. They are both great boats!

Twin 502s. Anybody who comes aboard loves the boat, hard to go wrong. Didn't get the chance to measure today, went to winterize the boat and the impeller blew into a million pieces, had to remove the hatch jack to get at it Glad it's not getting cold this week
